Step 1.

Estimate critical load (kW). Example: lights 0.5 kW + fridge 0.2 kW + fans 0.5 kW = 1.2 kW.

Step 2.

Multiply by desired backup hours (e.g., 8 hrs): 1.2 × 8 = 9.6 kWh.

Step 3.

Apply safety factor (1.2) → 11.5 kWh → round up to a 12 kWh battery bank. Use LFP usable DoD 80–90% for sizing.
